Price & Stock Updater
reapps.com.au
Bring a supplier's prices and stock levels into your catalog. Upload your Shopify export and the supplier's file, tell the tool which columns to use, and it matches by SKU.
Leave the multiplier at 1 if the file holds your selling price. If it holds your cost, enter your markup: 2 doubles it, 1.6 adds 60%.

Update Shopify Prices and Stock From a Supplier File
Suppliers send price lists and stock reports in their own layout, with their own column names, and never in Shopify's format. Getting those numbers into your store means matching every SKU by hand or building lookup formulas between two spreadsheets, and repeating it each time a new list arrives.
The Price & Stock Updater does the matching. Upload your Shopify product export and the supplier's CSV, pick which supplier columns hold the SKU, the price and the stock level, and the tool writes the new values into your export. A preview shows exactly what will change before you download anything.
What It Handles
Any Supplier Layout
Column names are read from the supplier file and offered in dropdowns, with a best guess already selected. Comma, semicolon and tab separated files all work. Prices written as "$1,299.00" and stock written as "10+" are understood.
Cost Price to Selling Price
If the supplier file lists your cost, enter a multiplier to apply your markup and choose a price ending. Rounding goes up, so a rounded price never falls below the margin you set.
Discontinued Lines
The report lists your SKUs that are missing from the supplier file. One tick box sets their stock to zero so they stop selling.
New Lines to Consider
It also lists supplier SKUs that are not in your store, which is a ready-made list of products you could add.
How to Bulk Update Shopify Prices by SKU
- Export Your Products: In Shopify admin go to Products, choose Export, and download the CSV.
- Get the Supplier File as CSV: If it arrives as an Excel workbook, open it and save the sheet as CSV.
- Upload Both and Map the Columns: Confirm which supplier columns hold the SKU, price and stock.
- Preview: Check how many SKUs matched, how many prices go up and down, and the unmatched lists.
- Download and Import: Import the updated CSV into Shopify with the option to overwrite existing products selected.
A Note on Stock and Locations
Shopify's product CSV carries stock in the Variant Inventory Qty column, and only includes that column for stores with a single location. If your store has more than one location, your export will not have the column, and the tool will tell you so. Prices can still be updated this way; stock for multi-location stores has to go through Shopify's separate inventory CSV.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I bulk update prices in Shopify from a supplier price list?
Export your products from Shopify, save the supplier's list as a CSV, and upload both here. Choose the supplier's SKU and price columns, preview the changes, download the updated file and import it into Shopify with the overwrite option selected.
How are products matched?
By SKU. The Variant SKU in your Shopify export is compared with the SKU column you choose in the supplier file. Capital letters and surrounding spaces are ignored. Variants with no SKU are skipped.
Can I apply my markup to a supplier's cost price?
Yes. Enter a multiplier, such as 2 to double the cost or 1.6 to add 60 percent, and choose a price ending. Prices round up to the ending so your margin is not reduced.
Why can't it update my stock?
Stock is updated through the Variant Inventory Qty column of the product CSV. Shopify leaves that column out of exports for stores with more than one location, and those stores must use Shopify's inventory CSV for stock instead.
Is this a replacement for a stock sync app?
It does the same job by hand. A sync app runs automatically on a schedule; this tool is for stores that update prices or stock occasionally and would rather not pay a monthly fee for it.
